Behind the Walls: Are These Celeb Homes More Luxurious Than 5-Star Resorts?
Bill Gates: Washington – ~ $127 Million
Where do we even begin with Microsoft founder Bill Gates and his huge home in Washington, named Xanadu 2.0. It took 500 Douglas fir trees, many contractors and 7 whole years to create the 66,000 square feet property. The lot itself cost Bill $2 million in 1988, and then he spent another $63 million to erect the home. Gates is known to auction off Xanadu 2.0 tours for as much as $35,000.
There are 6 kitchens, 7 huge bedrooms, 25 bathrooms in the house and a 60-foot swimming pool, most of which is indoors. Add to that a 2,100 square foot library that contains a $30.8 million worth notebook that belonged to Leonardo da Vinci, a trampoline room, elevator, reception room for 200 people, 23-car garage, 20 seater movie theatre, and beach with imported Caribbean sand.
