John Astin – 92 Years Old

Many people believe that the late great Raul Julia was the original portrayer of Gomez Addams in the Addams Family. But the man who actually laid the groundwork for the role was legendary veteran actor John Astin.

But Astin wasn’t just good at playing Mr. Addams. He also had a role in the 1961 version of West Side Story and the original 1976 version of Freaky Friday. To add even more spice to the story: he is stepfather to Sean Astin, the actor who played Samwise Gamgee in Lord Of The Rings. Astin is set to feature in the upcoming documentary called Hearing Voices: Modulating a Revolution.

Ted Donaldson was born to Will Donaldson, a singer/composer and his wife Jo (who died when he was 4 and a half). His career kickstarted in the 30’s during the Great Depression, with him appearing in an NBC radio show In December of 1937. However, the Great Depression did not affect him or his family much as he reaped in great wealth due to his acting talent! His most acclaimed roles came on ‘A Christmas Carol’ and ‘Father Knows Best’. Despite being talent and potential laden, Donaldson left the industry in 1940 to live a less spotlight sedated life.
